When it makes sense

Mechanical cleaning removes the dust and debris. Sanitizing and deodorizing treatments deal with what cleaning alone may not, such as odors from pets or smoke, or residue after pest activity. They are an add-on to cleaning, never a substitute.

How we use it

We apply an EPA-registered product labeled for HVAC ductwork, following the label directions exactly. We’ll tell you which product we’re using and share its safety information before we begin.

Not mold remediation

If we find suspected mold, we stop and tell you. In New York, areas larger than 10 square feet need a licensed mold assessor and remediator. Spraying over mold is not a fix.

Common questions

Is sanitizing necessary?

Usually not. The EPA advises that these products be used only when clearly needed, and only after cleaning. If your ducts don't need it, we'll say so.

Is it safe for kids and pets?

We only use products registered by the EPA for use in ductwork and follow the label directions, including how long to wait before running the system. You can review the product label and safety data sheet before we start.
