Why a camera matters

From the fireplace, you can see a few feet of flue at best. Cracked clay tiles, gaps between liner sections, heavy creosote glaze, and nesting material are usually farther up, where only a camera can reach. Those problems let heat and exhaust reach the wood framing around the chimney, or let carbon monoxide leak into the living space.

What you get

We record the scan and show it to you on the spot, then send a written report with still photos. If everything looks good, the report says so. If something needs attention, we explain what it is, why it matters, and what fixing it involves, so you can make the decision without pressure.

When to schedule one

A yearly inspection is the baseline recommended by NFPA 211. Schedule one sooner if you notice smoke problems, water near the chimney, or pieces of tile or mortar in the firebox.

Common questions

What's the difference between a Level 1 and a Level 2 inspection?

A Level 1 inspection covers the parts of the chimney you can reach and see directly. A Level 2 adds a camera scan of the flue and a closer look at the attic, crawlspace, and roof where accessible. NFPA 211 calls for Level 2 after a chimney fire, a change in fuel or appliance, or the sale of a home.

Do I have to be home?

Yes, for interior access to the fireplace or appliance. We'll walk you through the footage while we're there.
